As you may or may not know, Nas is preparing yet another album.  Just last year in 2007, he came out with the his Greatest Hits. The ninth studio album looks to be a controversial one, as you can already see from the title.  This is not the first time that Nas has tried to pick out a title like this.  If you are a Nas listener, then if you do not remember when the album, Hip Hop is Dead album was released, he initially wanted to call it, "Hip Hop is Dead...The N****."  As you can see, no one is stopping him this time, and the album will be titled, N****.  Nas's album will be released February 15th, 2008 and will be his ninth studio album.

Track Listing (So Far):
"The Fear (Of the Black Man's Dick)"
"You a N***** Too"

Some of you may have been wondering to yourselves as to what the heck happened to new reviews...Well as we stated earlier, reviews for new albums are currently on a hold as there are no new albums coming at us this early off the New Year.  While we await new releases, we promised we would do reviews, but as usual, our schedules got busy (and fast).  We still plan on getting a few more reviews from the past before new releases start making their way out to store racks.  Here is what we have lined up for now...

Upcoming Reviews:
  • Hi-Tek: Hi-Teknology (1, 2, & 3)
  • Amos Lee: Supply & Demand, Amos Lee
  • Talib Kweli: Beautiful Struggle, Quality
If you have any suggestions as to reviews you want us to do, or need something from us, please let us know either by leaving a comment on this post, or through the chat box.  Hope the old reviews we do will be able to hold you over until the new stuff starts trickling in.

Since this is V2 of our blog, we have decided to add a brand new feature. "Artist of the Month" will consist of an artist of our choosing and we will cover either careers accomplishments.  We saw that it being a brand new year, that it would only be fitting to have Bob Marley as our "Artist of the Month."  The reason that we feel he should be our "Artist of the Month" is mainly because his main philosophies and ways of life were pacifist.  As we usher in the New Year, we can all look back at 2007 and recount all that went on.  Bob Marley's views and ideas are exactly what the world needs for not only 2008, but forever.

Notable Accomplishments:
  • In 1976, Bob Marley and The Wailers Won Band of the Year from Rolling Stone
  • In June of 1978, Marley was awarded the Peace Medal of the Third World from the U.N.
  • In February of 1981, Marley was given the third highest honor in Jamaica by receiving the Jamaica Order of Merit
  • In March of 1994, Bob Marley was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
  • In 1999, the album, Exodus, won album of the century by TIME Magazine
  • In February of 2001, Bob Marley earned a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.  He also was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award
  • In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Bob Marley #11 on their "100 Greatest Artists of All Time"
  • The BBC Named "One Love" as the Song of the Century

November 16th, 2006 marker Akon's second studio album.  "Konvicted" sold extremely well, 284,000 copies were sold on it debut day.  Akon's second release has a lot of extra material on it, and unlike other albums, it seems that everywhere the album was sold had something a bit different.  Akon's second release stayed in the top twenty for twenty eight consecutive weeks.  By week six of his release, Akon had sold over a million copies of "Konvicted."  A quick little fact: "Konvicted" went Double Platinum in only week sixteen.  If you are not one who loves R&B or do not like newer music, I would still highly suggest checking out Akon's 2006 release.

The Track List:
"Shake Down"
"Blown Away (Feat. Styles P)"
"The Rain"
"Never Took The Time"
"Mama Africa"
"I Can't Wait"
"Gangsta Bop"
"Tired of Runnin'"
"Once In A While"

Bonus Tracks:
"Gringo (UK/US Bonus Track)"
"Don't Matter (Calypso Remix) (Brazilian/UK/US Bonus Track)"
"Fair To You (US Bonus Track)"
"Still Alone (US Bonus Track)"
"Rush (Feat. Kardinal Offishal) (Brazilian/UK/US Bonus Track)"

While I am sure that  most of you know, Akon has been involved in a lot of situations that we on this blog will not go into, but in-spite all the bad that the media has produced out there, we would like to show that Akon is not all bad, and that hopefully people around the globe can take Akon's sincere  apology and realize that people can change.

Here is the song Akon made for all who he has done wrong to, lets hope that Akon is turning a new leaf for 2008:

If you would like to see a YouTuber's opinion on the subject (which I fully agree with), then check it out in the video player below.

Well, there has not been much to review, then again, it is only the third day of 2008.  When new albums and more music news hits the reel, we will be posting and getting back into the routine.  In the meantime, while we, and the rest of the world await new releases, ICECrush and I will review albums that have already been released, and are willing to do a review for anyone who wants us to.  Also, expect some sort of list containing what albums are going to come out in this fine year of 2008.  Please leave feedback on the blog in either a comment on this post, or in the chat box we have provided on the sidebar.

The blog has been up for some time, and while we did more from one blog domain to another, it is truly hard on us to never get comments considering how long it takes to form a solid review...  I mean, it gets very frustrating sometimes, but I guess it is what it is.  We made this site because we enjoy and love music.  Due to our love and joy for music, we made the blog not only to review and guide others towards good music, but to also discuss music.  If you read the blog, view the blog, or in some way feel an attachment to this blog, please just leave some comments.  I know that I don't upload stuff like other users, but formulating and finding all the stuff that goes into a review is awfully tough (especially with ICECrush and my schedule).

All in all, thanks for a great 2007, and we look forward to 2008, with many new releases.

Well, 2007 is in the books, and we can now all look onto a brand new year.  2008 is sure to be fun filled with tons of new releases and more events then possibly imaginable.  I will keep this a short post, as I am very tired from everything that has gone on from my very nice break, and my hectic New Years night.  As you know, this is mainly a music blog, but every now and then, ICECrush and I like to bring you news and features from other sorts of media (i.e. Movies, Television, Celebrity News, etc.)  So to end this New Years Post, I am leaving you with two trailers that will be airing in 2008 (if the writers strike does not cause them to cancel).  My partner on this blog and I each enjoy watching the TV Shows "LOST," and "24."   Here are the trailers for these two upcoming shows of 2008.

LOST, Season 4 (Set Air Date: January 31, 2008)

24, Season 7 (Set Air Date: January 13, 2008)
