We were just talking about Michael coming out with a new album, so I thought that we'd shed some light on his little sister Janet. Janet Jackson will be releasing her 10th studio album on February 26, 2008, and will be released on Island Records, different from her previous Virgin Records label. The cover is seductive, and hopefully foreshadows a nice album. I was looking for the nip slip on the cover, but couldn't find it.

Here are Janet's comments on the album:
"Discipline has been much on my mind," she says. "It's the idea that unifies the songs on this record. As a concept, and even a lifestyle, discipline goes extremely deep. It can be applied to so much about ourselves. In my case, I see it as one of defining aspects of my character. Discipline was there for me from the start. But it was not until this record that I began to understand its full meaning.

"So Discipline, as a storyline, begins in my childhood which someone could see as a classic study in discipline. Discipline was part of a family culture that I absorbed. I was born with it."

Well, unlike my friend, I personally do like American Idol, and although America does sometimes make mistake on who they choose, things seems to write themselves out when to comes down to who is making music after a season is over.  While I would admit, there have been some bad candidates, I still find that American Idol does bring out some talent, and some laughs.  My all time favorite part of the auditions is mainly watching people sing...William Hung and many others make this show what it is, so it is time to pay our dues to them!

On April 12, 2005, The National released their third album entitled  Alligator.  Their third album release was a great success and the band had grabbed the music industry by a storm. May 22nd, 2007, The National release their fourth studio album entitled, Boxer.  The fourth release from The National is also a great success, and the indie rock album debuted at #68 on the U.S. Billboard 200.  On  Rolling Stone's top 100 songs of 2007, "Mistaken For Strangers" was ranked #92.  If you love Indie Rock, check out all of The National's releases, and let us know what you think!

Matt Costa - Songs We Sing

July 26th, 2005 marked Matt Costa's debut studio album entitled, Songs We Sing.  The album was originally released under Venerable, but was then re-released under the singer/songwriter Jack Johnson's, "Brushfire Records."  The re-release featured a different track listing than the 2005 independent release (which is not sold in stores anymore).  Both the 2005 and 2006 releases were fantastic, each containing the essence of soothing tunes and mesmerizing lyrics. If you have never heard of Matt Costa, and like Jack Johnson's music, I highly suggest you give all of his works a listen.

Think of this E.P. album as a sort off left over track listing/recording from Matt's first album Songs We Sing.  I really do like the tracks on here, and it just helps continue the vibe I got from the first release.  It was in limited print, so go to your local music store and see if they have any.  This was released before the re-release in 2006 came out, so some of the tracks are on the 2006 album.  If they don't then stop by your nearest corner music store, and see if they carry it!  I really do like the album, and advise anyone seeking more Matt Costa tunes to check it out.

Rumors are now turning into the truth as more and more music artists are vocally stating that they are working with Michael Jackson (The King of Pop) on a return 2008 album that is yet to be titled.  Not much else to really tell you except that there really will be a Michael Jackson album sooner or later.  He has been working on it since 2006, and writing songs from 2003 and on.  It will be really interesting to see how he sounds, and how he does with the collaborations in which he will feature newer day musicians and beats.  Will.I.Am is hoping that the first single for the album will drop sometime in 2008.  Below I will provide as much information on the album that I know of as of right now...

This week's remix is in my eyes one of the greatest mashups ever created. I just love how the Jay-Z's words blend so well with the violin and other sounds from The Verve. I am going to be listening to this one for such a long time. So I was going through my CD rack, and I stumbled upon the two Sean Lennon albums I have.  I popped his 2006 release entitled Friendly Fire, and gave it a listen.  I got to tell you, if you are a Beatles fan, or you enjoy Soft Rock and or Rock, give Sean Lennon's 98' and 06' releases a listen.  I am personally a big Beatles fan, and listening to him sing is really similar to listening to his father.  Not only do they sound similar, but they look exactly alike.  If you have not heard of Sean Lennon's music, I highly suggest you give Friendly Fire a listen!
