First off, the title. Adam Duritz, lead singer and piano, explains the title Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings. His rationale behind the title is that, "Saturday night is when you sin and Sunday is when you regret." For this very reason, the album is set up as a dual sided disk, Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings respectively. "Sinning is often done very loudly, angrily, bitterly, [and] violently," so the A-side of the album will have a rocking side, and then the regret will be associated with the more "acoustic-y, maybe country-ish side."
So far 3 of the tracks have been released for public listening including:
"1492" from Saturday Nights and "When I Dream of Michaelangelo" in a free Digital 45 available for download on Counting Crows
and
"You Can't Count On Me" as the new hit single from Sunday Mornings available on Amazon or iTunes

I got to say, Adam Duritz is really a talented singer and pianist. He could play piano notes very amazingly. Such talents shouldn't go to waste.
