Matt Costa - Songs We Sing

July 26th, 2005 marked Matt Costa's debut studio album entitled, Songs We Sing.  The album was originally released under Venerable, but was then re-released under the singer/songwriter Jack Johnson's, "Brushfire Records."  The re-release featured a different track listing than the 2005 independent release (which is not sold in stores anymore).  Both the 2005 and 2006 releases were fantastic, each containing the essence of soothing tunes and mesmerizing lyrics. If you have never heard of Matt Costa, and like Jack Johnson's music, I highly suggest you give all of his works a listen.

2005 Release Track Listing:
"Yellow Taxi"
"Astair"
"Oh Dear"
"Cold December"
"Desire's Only Fling"

"Shimmering Fields"
"Behind the Moon"
"Wash Away"

2006 Re-Release Track Listing:

"These Arms"
"Ballad of Miss Kate"
"Sweet Rose"
"Songs We Sing"

"Behind The Moon"

2006 Re-Release Bonus Tracks:

"Gloomy (iTunes Bonus Track Release)"

Matt Costa - The Elasmosaurus EP

Think of this E.P. album as a sort off left over track listing/recording from Matt's first album Songs We Sing.  I really do like the tracks on here, and it just helps continue the vibe I got from the first release.  It was in limited print, so go to your local music store and see if they have any.  This was released before the re-release in 2006 came out, so some of the tracks are on the 2006 album.  If they don't then stop by your nearest corner music store, and see if they carry it!  I really do like the album, and advise anyone seeking more Matt Costa tunes to check it out.

Track Listing:
"Ballad of Miss Kate" [On 2006 Re-Release]
"These Arms" [On 2006 Re-Release]
"I Tried" [On 2006 Re-Release]
"Suicide Is Painless"
"Sweet Thursday" [On 2006 Re-Release]
"Lullaby" [2006 Re-Release Bonus Track]

Matt Costa - Matt Costa E.P.

Matt Costa's actual first release of anything was this E.P. album that was self entitled.  There really is not much to comment on this E.P. album, it is pretty solid, and again, as I said before, go out and get this E.P. along with the other one if you want more Matt Costa music to listen to.

Track Listing:
"Astair" [On 2005 & 2006 Release]
"Acting Like a Fool"
"TV Gods"
"Shimmering Fields" [On 2005 Release]
"Movin' On"

This Concludes Our Matt Costa News & Reviews, We Hope That If You Have Never Heard Of Matt Costa That You Give His Works A Listen And Let Us Know What You Think!  We Can't Wait To Review His Upcoming 2008 Release, So Check Back Here On The 22nd (Unless That Release Date Changes Again)
