Whatever your personal opinion was regarding Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, this is one sad day. I'm not sure if it's just ironic that MJ died on the day of my high school graduation, or what, but the news really shocked me; I couldn't have been more surprised. In a day and age when we need old school icons bringing back the music our parents grew up on, an untimely, heart attack induced, 50-year old death is definitely not what we need.

Michael Jackson was an American icon who produced, performed, and amazed. His moonwalk was nasty, his voice divine, and his presence great. With numerous scandals surrounding himself, and a weird new nose and skin color, people got the wrong impression of him. I always knew him as the Thriller and Michael Jackson Number Ones.

With that I wish you happy music hunting and to listen to a few of MJs songs in these next few days. He was supposed to go on tour this summer, and I feel terrible for the fans who are going to miss out.

THRILLER. LIVE.

It always stinks when a musician or really anyone dies...  Today the music industry lost one of its greats in MC Breed.  The Flint, Michigan native passed away today.  He came out with some hot tunes in his lifetime, and was known for collabs with 2Pac, The D.O.C., & DFC.  One of his hit songs that made it to #66 on the Billboard was one of my past favorites entitled, "Ain't No Future In Yo' Frontin"  Check out that track below.  We wish everything well to the Breed family and to his friends and relatives.  MC Breed left his impact on the music industry forever, and he will truly be missed.

It takes a man a lot of courage to appear in court and reface an issue that is as sore as the death of T.I.'s assistant manager Philant Johnson.  He will appear in court to testify on the shootings that went down back in May 06'.  I wish T.I. all the best, and I hope both Hosea Thomas and his brother Padron are locked up for what they did.

One of my favorite comedians passed away today.  George Carlin was 71 when he had a heart attack and died in California today.  George Carlin enlightened many, and was a very funny comedian.  His death is a great loss to the world, and his memory will always remain on this planet.  His ability to crack a smile on his fans faces, whether it was watching him on T.V. or seeing him live was incomparable to any other comedic entertainer out there.  Our condolences go out to the Carlin family, and his fans.

This past Thursday was a very sad day in the music industry.  Danny Federici, the organ/piano player for the E Street Band (which was fronted by Bruce Springsteen) passed away from melanoma.  For all of you out there who listen to Springsteen's albums, or are someone who listened to Springsteen and the E Street Band, Federici was a main component of the group.  He was a big part of the productions the group made, and was, "the jell that kept the group together."  Our condolences go out to Federici's family, the E Street Band, and Bruce Springsteen.

Well, another year in the books! 2007 was a great year on many parts, but this year also had many sad parts to it as well. As you all probly know, Sean Taylor (of the Washington Redskins) was gunned down in his home. Pimp C was found dead in his hollywood hotel room. T.I. and many other musicians are getting busted with crimes. Evil Knievel passed away at the age of 69. All of these bad things sadly happened this year, so this post, our second to last post of the year, is in a way, in honor to all of those people out there who have given their lives to their country, or have had an impact on those around them. In times of sadness, we need to turn to these people who risked it all, or changed the way we all live our lives, and remember them and who they were, and what they stood for.

As of right now, I am currently back, and reviews will continue on as my partner and I get back into our regular routines from our week-long hiatus.  ICECrush and I had a nice break from posting, but it is time to get back to business, and even though this post is sort of a sad one and a commemoration post, but as 2007 is coming to a close, ICE & I look forward to a happy and healthy new year for everyone.

Robert Craig, known as Evil Knievel, passed away today, November 30, 2007. He began his high flying acts back in 1965, and was an instant hit among Americans and others around the world. His death defying stunts drew crowds from all over the world. Two days before he had passed (at age 69), Craig and Kanye West had settled the dispute which was carried out in a court of law over the rights to use Knievel's image in Kanye West's ever so popular, "Touch The Sky" music video. Robert Craig brought happiness and has left his mark on the world forever.

Today is a truly sad day. Kanye West's mom passed away this morning in a Los Angeles hospital. Today is Veteran's day, and I doubt that it is a coincidence. Kanye is a Veteran (not of a war) in my eyes and his mom should be cast in that same light. It is not confirmed exactly when/how she died, but but the sudden loss is devastating. Dr. Donda West and her son Kanye were extremely close, and this will really hit Kanye hard. She was 58.

On Kanye's Sophomore Album "Late Registration" from 2005, he wrote a song for his mother titled Hey Mama. The Song goes: "(Hey Mama), I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz I'm so proud of you / Let me tell you what I'm about to do, (Hey Mama) / I know I act a fool but, I promise you I'm goin back to school /I appreciate what you allowed for me
I just want you to be proud of me (Hey Mama)".

This song really shows his love for his mom, and to show it he performed the song in front of his mom, live on Oprah. I cannot even begin to feel this loss for his. I would not be surprised if he releases a follow up tribute song soon, and I am sure that it will be breathtaking.

Once again, Kanye I send my love to you and your family. Dr. Donda West, may you Rest in Peace.

Update:
According to MTV.com: "According to multiple sources, West was in Los Angeles and her death may have been the result of complications from a surgical procedure; more specific information was unavailable at press time."
