I know that this song is a bit old by now, but I have just been digging it way too hard. The song is HOT and the video is even HOTTER!!! For that reason I thought it would be a great idea to give it up to Keri Hilson, Kanye, and Ne-Yo, and to present you with "Knock You Down"!!!

Well this mixtape is pretty darn solid, I don't really know if Ne-Yo put it out himself, or if some fan created it, but it is the bomb digitty! I truly love listening to music, and I am alway open to new stuff.  Well this mixtape features a variety of Ne-Yo songs that tap into different genres.  You got your soul songs, hip-hop songs, r'n'b tracks, and then some rap sediments in there!  It is truly a fantastic mixtape, and I highly recommend it to any Ne-Yo fans out there.  Also, there are two tracks on the mixtape in which he addresses his work with Michael Jackson on his upcoming album, and who he thinks has the most Swagger in R&B.  Interesting stuff, nonetheless, pick up this mixtape if you know Ne-Yo, or even if you have never heard his stuff before.  I promise it will be sure to delight one and all!

Track Listing:
"She Got Her Own (Featuring Jamie Foxx & Fabolous) (Miss Independent Remix)" (9 out of 10)
"In The Way" (8.6 out of 10)
"You Don't Love Me" (8.6 out of 10)
"Not Perfect" (8.6 out of 10)

"Talks About Working For The Michael Jackson Album" (N/A out of N/A)
"Ne-Yo Talks About The Swagger Like Us" (N/A out of N/A)
"By My Side (Feat. Jadakiss)" (9.7 out of 10)
"Nobodys Gotta Know (Feat. Yung Ram)" (8.8 out of 10)
"All For You (Feat. Yung Ram)" (8.7 out of 10)

Just found the album art for the upcoming Ne-Yo release.  Looks solid, but still does not tell me much about the album itself.  Anyways, here is some quick info on what is going on with Ne-Yo.

Closer was the first single off the album.  It did not really capture me the way I thought it would.  It is still a solid track, but not the Ne-Yo I am used to.  It has an upbeat feel to it, and like most Ne-Yo songs, it flows nicely.  The track really did not appeal much to me, but I did think that it was a decent choice for the first single.  It will get tons of air play on the radios, internet, and of course on TV stations.  Regardless of that, this track will for sure give Ne-Yo fans what they have been craving since his last release.

So anyway, if you want to give it a listen, either Click Here, or just go on YouTube, and type the track name in the search bar, and give the first single from Rn'B sensation a listen.  Let me know whether or not you like it...

Here is a list of the confirmed tracks thus far that will for sure appear in the upcoming Ne-Yo album release.  The list includes the single that I just gave a short review on...

Confirmed Tracks:
"Closer"
"Stop This World"
"So You Can Cry"
"What's The Matter"
"Let's Just Be"
"In the Way"
"TBD" (Feat. Patrick Stump) [<-- Unknown Track Name As Of Yet...]

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting sick of hearing of musicians doing stupid things.  Some of the stuff they are getting locked up over is stuff they could avoid (like Ne-Yo's recent run in with the law, in which he was going over 100 M.P.H. on a road.)  As people who work in a business in which young, highly influential, teens and young adults, could you blame the music industry for some of the crimes that go on around the world?  It would not be such a ludicrous idea.

When you have so many people who listen to music, and look up to musicians, it is easy to see as to how artists like 50 Cent, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, and others could be very influential on how society works.  Artists like these may not know that, but they play a big role in many lives. When people blame Rap/Hip-Hop for, "causing crime rates to rise," they don't look at what aspect of the industry is doing it.  It is not the lyrics of the artist, it is the action.  You all know the famous quote, "Actions speak louder then words."  Well you can definitely see it in today's music industry. Lyrics are not the problem, it is the actions in which the musician partakes in that is the problem.

Maybe more artists should be like Chamillionaire, and start acting like an average person. While that may be a hard thing to do, Chamil sure does a great job of being a class act citizen. He is one of the only people Rap/Hip-Hop stars out there to produce an album that does not swear, and is appropriate for all. While it is awfully hard to make an album such as King Koopa has, you can still be a good person and stay out of trouble while still living the stars life. Musicians like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, John Legend, and Common are all examples of people who entertain, and are examples of how people should act in the world. Think about it the next time you see an article of your favorite artist doing something they shouldn't, I am sure you will agree with me that it really isn't the lyrics, rather the actions that they commit

Rumors are now turning into the truth as more and more music artists are vocally stating that they are working with Michael Jackson (The King of Pop) on a return 2008 album that is yet to be titled.  Not much else to really tell you except that there really will be a Michael Jackson album sooner or later.  He has been working on it since 2006, and writing songs from 2003 and on.  It will be really interesting to see how he sounds, and how he does with the collaborations in which he will feature newer day musicians and beats.  Will.I.Am is hoping that the first single for the album will drop sometime in 2008.  Below I will provide as much information on the album that I know of as of right now...

Collaborations:
  • Will.I.Am
  • Kanye West
  • Ne-Yo
  • Akon
  • T-Pain (Rumor)
  • Chris Brown (Rumor)
Current Known Track Names: (Each Track Listed Has Been Done With Will.I.Am, They Are Currently Working On A Third Song Together As Well)
  • "I'm Dreamin'"
  • "The Future"
Thats all we got for now, we will keep you up to date on "The King of Pop" and his return to the music industry.

So guys I'm really sorry for not posting in such a long time my Remix of the Week, and especially that it's supposed to come out on Monday, and it's Wednesday.

So...I'm hitting you up with 2 remixes this week to maybe make up for that and mine and SoSickWitItYo's little hiatus coming up for the holidays.

So anyway, today I'm hitting you with 2 remixes, stemming from the one and only Ne-Yo. These remixes feature the legendary Kanye West in "Because of You" and 2Pac in "So Sick". As you guys probably know, SoSickWitIt and I love Kanye and 2Pac, along with CB and some other doughboy fresh kids, so yeah we like these remixes.

Numero Uno:
"So Sick" feat. 2Pac. This fabulous remix was featured on MTV as Jam of the week a while back. Combines Ne-yo's "So Sick" with 2Pac's "Don't You Trust Me?".

Pros: Ne-yo and 2Pac, what more can you ask for? Sweet video also.
Cons: Very short coming in at 2:05, I wish there was more to the song.

Video:

Numero Dos:
My true fav, "Because of You" feat. KANYE WEST.
Pretty sure that this is official b/c I'm not really sure if the song is a separate Kanye song. If anyone knows anything else about it tell me.

Pros: Ne-Yo and KANYE! Great length. Sicknasty song.
Cons: On my version of the song the sound was a bit off, and the like bass beat is very like tchh, I can't really explain it. Other than that great song.

Video:

Enjoy!
