In an age where fashion is king, and where you're classified by the amount of ice you wear, or the number of ice creams you own, it seems as if T-Pain is the winner. With the purchase of his new BIG ASS CHAIN, it seems as if T-Pain has finally passed Lil' Jon with his 7.5 pound, 197 carat, $410k BIG ASS PURCHASE!

At first sight, T-Pain's new pendant seemed pretty cool, but after peepin' an angry letter addressed to T-Pain from our boys over at The Mad Bloggers, we seem to be set straight. I don't know about you, but I never really enjoyed Lil' Jon's pimp cup, and I can't seem to enjoy T-Pain's new purchase either. While I am a fiscal conservative, and do believe in economic freedom and consumer sovereignty, I do believe that some purchases are a bit over the top and frivolous. A 1 million dollar grand piano would be fully justified, but not a half-million dollar piece of jewelry. I hope T-Pain is donating some money to charity or something because this purchase seems just dumb. I mean it even seems like a hassle to wear. Who has the strength capacity to carry around an extra 7.5 pounds around his neck? Not me. I'm skinny as hell!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on T-Pain at all, and still respect him as an eccentric rapper and producer, but isn't his pounds and pounds of auto-tune already weighing him down? As I begin to explore rappers' monetary success, I begin to wonder how guys like T-Pain get discovered and make it big. Where's the cash for our boys like CDon and Julius The Myth? I have no problem with the amount of money that entertainers make, because ultimately we're paying for their (s)e(x)scapades, but how do these Emcees get discovered and taken to the next level? It just seems so tough. How did Soulja Boy get signed? Who thought it was a good idea to sign Jibbs? You think they came up with “The Soulja Boy” and “Do Your Chains Hang Low” themselves? Nahhht.

As we continue to write, expose, and promote, we just hope that our artists get a little more love, and that the guys we don't love as much finally get weeded out. There are some phenomenal musicians out there that are waiting to get signed, but just aren't handed the opportunities; and trust me they're trying. Take it from us: Don't hate, explore. Speak out and do some of your own promoting. Trust me, your help will not be forgotton.

It's our boy Mike Posner, and he's back for more! Tearin' up Soulja Boy, bringin' it hard, he has just delivered his remixed version of "Kiss Me Thru The Phone". Check it out! It's pretty ill and if you love Posner you'll be sure to love this song. Comment on here, because Posner reads the blog. He'd love to see your feedback.

With Soulja Boy's newest song, "Kiss Me Thru The Phone", he has earned a semi-redemption from me (ICECrush), but definitely not SoSickWitItYo. Don't tell him that I'm doing this post, he'd probably get mad at me, but shhh...he'll never find out (that's a lie lol).

Soulja Boy's first song, "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" was an the brain child of an idiotic, immature, terrible "artist" (to use the term loosely). When my friend first told me that she had a Soujla Boy song to send me I was like 'UGH I HATE SOULJA BOY'...and then I got addicted.

When I listen to "Kiss Me Thru The Phone", I hear a well thought out song with a calm, cool, and smooth R&B singer. It sorta sounds like something that Chris Breezy used to produce (as he probably won't be producin' anymore), just a little cheesier. Yeah, maybe Soulja Boy's lyrics are a little simple and ebonix-esque, but he produced a great track this time. It's an enormous step up!

If you watch the music video, you see a collected, civilized, Soulja Boy, giving you his all, singing his heart out. He is clean cut, isn't wearing sun glasses, and looks pretty good. Yeah maybe he's still a young "gangsta" wearing all of the chains, parkas, oversized earrings and jerseys, but he really surprised me on this one. He sorta looks like he could be Omarion or Mario.

Souja Boy, I give you props on this one, but don't expect me to give you any hot new reviews in the near future. Think of this as a gift. If you continue to produce solid tracks, I'll keep the solid reviews coming.

"Girl you know I miss you, I just wanna kiss you,
But I can't right now so baby
KISS ME THRU THE PHONE."

More beef coming at ya'll... Check the video below and give it a listen, the interview definitely gives more insight on the beef going on between SB and Bow Weezy.  Also, cop the diss track that Rick Ross put out that fires some comments towards the beef monster 50 Cent.

Well we all know 50 Cent does his fair share of beef in the music industry, but it would appear that he has influenced young Bow Wow and Souja boy to follow in his footsteps.  It would appear that the two young musicians are now beefin' it up after each sharing the stage on a concert.  Before this beef started, Soulja Boy had just finished his beef (which we all think he lost) with Charles Hamilton.  This new beef comes after Bow Wow and Nelly started this whole basketball game challenge, and it would appear that you may be hearing some diss tracks out of the Bow Wow camps and Nelly camps.  That should be a good beef matchup, seeing as you never really hear about Nelly starting up with anyone, or at least this is the first time I have heard of him feuding with another artist.

Anyway, Soulja Boy and Bow Wow are beefing and we will be covering the shots that the two of them take at each other.  Soulja made a bold statement, clearly telling all that he will leak Bow Wow's new album... Don't know how he will do that, he would have to pay off someone in the Bow Wow camp in order to get a copy of it, and as of right now, he does not have THAT much money, seeing as his second album bombed and was utterly terrible.

No more swearing... No more inappropriate concepts or themes... WOW, well that is one step in the right direction for Mr. Boy.  I am not in favor of supporting him, but hey, if he decides to clean up his act, this is one small step for him getting into my good book.  I don't see it happening though!  I mean it is a nice idea, and something that I think most rappers should do.  Chamillionaire has already done this, so I am not too impressed.  But heck, even if Soulja Boy starts it, I would hope other musicians would do it and follow suit.  I am still very much Anti-Soulja, but this is one point in the good book for him.  Maybe he just said it so Santa wouldn't leave him a lump of cole due to his poor musical talent and inability to rap, and for his killing of hip-hop.

Charles Hamilton is the man, nuff' said.  Well, hold up, there is a ton more to say, so I take that back.  Charles possesses this amazing ability to just spit lyrics, have a nice flow to his songs, and just have the ability to do his thing.  I am telling you that he is going to be one of the key artists to be on the lookout for in 09' and you can check out what I had to say about him by CLICKING HERE!  Anyway, I forgot to post up this music video when it first came out, and me being a Soulja Boy "hater" and a huge fan of hip-hop and rap, I got to show you all this (if you haven't seen it yet).  I mean Charles really brought it on this diss track, I mean you hear 50 and Lil' Wayne go at it, and Fiddy and Kanye go at it, and The Game and Mr. Cent go at it, and Young Jeezy and Fifty Cent go at it, and then you have Ja Rule and Fiddy Cent who went at it (wait a minute, this wasn't a post to hate on 50... right? Oh well!), and then you give the Hamilton diss track a listen, and dang, he brought it!  Anyway, check out the diss track below, and his hit single, "Brooklyn Girls,"  I'm telling ya, he is gonna go big in 09' so be on the lookout!

P.S. I am with The Mixtape Monster on this one...  If you buy a Soulja Boy album or any of his music, don't even bother coming to this blog anymore, I truly am getting sick and tired of Soulja Stupid.

I hate being the guy who gets to say, "I told ya so," but since I was right, a message to Soulja Boy: "I TOLD YA SO!!!"  Man, come on, why did you think that in a week your album would go Platinum...?  It didn't even break #43 on the charts, which is one of the crapiest positions to be in for someone who was so sure that he could go platinum in one single week.  Who do you think you are man?  Sure you made a dance that refers to the amazing super hero that is Superman, but heck, you are far from it.  Selling 46,000 CD's is no where close to going platinum, last I checked at least.  You can crank whatever you want, and walk like a bird for all I care, but you need to learn that your ego and your mouth is far bigger than your talent and your skill.  Weezy sold A Milli in a freaking day man, what made you think you could go platinum in a week.  Did you think that by making ridiculous videos and posting them on YouTube would help accomplish this goal!?  That is just a ludicrous thought man.

Listen Soulja, I am still up for an interview and discussion with you.  Then again, I doubt you have ever read my blog, nor would you care to even converse with a young teenager whose thoughts and ideas don't even matter, but I promise you that I would support you if you would clear some stuff up with me.  Heck an interview with me, or anyone else for that matter may make your image better, maybe explaining some things to the public will help with your public image.  I am no publicist, but getting into beef with Charles Hamilton and other musicians really is not your strong point.  You don't have much credibility, except for your hit song "Crank That" which is now getting old and no air time on the radio or internet.  I think that there is a side to you that is smart, but then again, at that same time, I see a baboon who does not know how to act his age.  I would hope that as you grow up, you mature and become more of an adult, but if not, that's a-ok with me, considering I will just have more stuff to comment on.

Anyway, to sum up this post, I would like to congratulate you on not achieving your goal.  It is just rather great to see you go out their and tell the world that your goal is to go platinum, and then you put out a crappy album with no hits that come close to your "Crank That" single.  I think it is great that you have such confidence in yourself, but dang, you need a reality check.  The only reason your iSouljaboytellem album did so well was because of your only solid hit.  You didn't have a breakout hit on this album and your sales reflect your skill and ability.  46,000 copies, I promise you that the Gucci trash can you own will eventually have to be put on eBay because you won't put out another album that will come anywhere close to the "Crank That" single.  So looks like this is what you should get used to for the rest of your musical career.

OH, AND BY THE WAY, I TOLD YA SO

Hey, don't forget to make sure that you don't cop Soulja Boy's upcoming sophomore release on December 16th... Just reminding you!  Send it to your friends. family, and post it around MySpace!!!  Make sure you join the cause to make sure Soulja Boy does not go Platinum in a week, and for that matter, EVER!  Help us out, and spread the word!!!  If you own a blog, add a post advocating the same thing and post up support for our Anti-Soulja Boy campaign!

Thanks!

Wow, I just saw the craziest video by Soulja Boy, and I gave him a chance to interview with us, sit down, settle our differences, but he was a no show.  So now we here at TGLR are starting the Anti-Soulja Boy campaign.  In light of his recent video telling fans and people around the globe to help him accomplish his goal on December 16th, 2008.  He wants to get his sophomore album to go Platinum in its first week of release.  PEOPLE, DO NOT GO OUT AND BUY HIS MUSIC... PLEASE!!!

We need to stop his crap tunes from being played on the radio and on the web.  He has offered truly nothing to the music industry other than ruckus and bad tunes.  He is in it for the money, and his songs truly have no message whatsoever!  It is crucial for people who enjoy listening to good music that Soulja's album does not go Platinum.  The guy is 18 years old, and to be honest, hasn't put out a good song yet.  I encourage all of you to get the word out as to WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY SOULJA BOYS ALBUM come December 16th, 2008.  If you are a die hard Soulja fan, then fine, but if you think it is stupid to see people doing the "Bird Walk" (which by the way looks nothing like a bird walking...) I advise you to not waste your money during these harsh economical times.  Guys, the word needs to get out... Send this post to everyone you know... Digg it, post it all over MySpace, share it on Facebook, do whatever you can to stop Soulja Boy from putting out another crap album.  Listen, if you all want his crappy beats and mediocre lyrical skill to be played on your radio stations, on websites around the web, and in clubs all over the world, then don't get the word out.  I am not a Soulja hater, I am a fan of good music, Hip-Hop/Rap, and when someone starts to kill the music industry, it is as the Chi-Town rapper says, "The People" right to speak out.

Now is our time, more than ever to stop some crappy artist from getting a mediocre record to Platinum status.  If there is one thing we all know, it is that Soulja Boy is in it for the money.  Artists like Kanye West, Nas, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Jay-Z all send a message, have meaning, and stand for something.  They all have money, like Soulja Boy, but the way they use their money is what's the key difference.  Soulja Boy takes the money he makes and spends it on himself, and those two bone headed friends that appear in every stupid video he makes.  Jay-Z is a perfect example of someone who uses their money for the greater good, he has done so much charity work in his career, and he also was extremely involved in this past election.  I did not hear one thing from Soulja Boy as to what he thinks about the American economy.  He is just a huge self-centered musician who is in it for the money.  He doesn't care if 90% of America went broke tomorrow, just as long as his albums sell, everything is alright with him.

I don't understand how an 18 year old like him, with the money he has, doesn't use it for good.  He could donate it, no need for all those gold watches which are too big for his tiny wrists.  No need to waste it on new sidekick phones and PS3's... He could be making a difference in the world with all that wasted money, buying houses for people who are foreclosed, or even building homes for the homeless.  I don't see how any American, or any other person around the world could possibly waste their money on a crappy album when the times are just so hard.  You could end up buying groceries, or other necessities with that money that would go towards iSouljaBoyTellEm'.

Please folks, think twice before buying a Soulja Boy product, and remember, BE SURE TO GET THE WORD OUT!!! WE DON'T NEED THIS CRAP FROM SOULJA BOY ANY LONGER!!!

You know how against Soulja Boy I truly am, but I wanted to set things straight with him.  I mean hey, I am not a big time blogger on the web, but I got an opinion, and I like to express it.  While I hope that there is nothing to big between Soulja and I, I want to get his opinion on stuff.  I e-mailed him like four times, and hopefully he will respond in the near future.  He is such a big supporter of how fans should write him e-mails, so I sure hope he checks one of our four e-mails and agrees to the interview.  If he doesn't then I guess he does not want to face what could be a challenging interview.  I am not trying to start beef with him, but my opinion of the young rapper will never change unless he is willing to give me an interview, and set stuff straight.  If he doesn't want to, then I will continue to produce articles about him, and they won't be positive...  Hope to hear from you soon Soulja Boy!

Soulja Boy up in that hoe, watch my MySpace get hacked fa sho...! That's right, Soulja's MySpace was not only hacked into, but held hostage for a sum of money.  This was no small time hold up here, were talking $2,500 in return for complete control over his MySpace page.  I guess thats one way to make money when the economy stinks!  Soulja contacted MySpace, and they got him back onto his account without him paying a dime!  So how did Soulja find out about his MySpace infiltration?

A guy by the name of 4chan sent Mr. Boy a text message stating that he had complete control of his MySpace and that in order for him to get the control back, he would have to fork over $2,500.  Soulja shot him back a text message with the following... "I said f' you, b!t**. Do what you do. This motherf'er got to be f'ed up."  Interesting, I guess pacifism isn't Soulja's forte.  He is now offering $10,000 dollars for the name of the hacker...  The article I found the story on also stated, "Valleywag commenter Rex Sorgatz suggests a security tip for the young man: "Perhaps his password shouldn't have been SupermanDatHo."

In other Soulja Boy news... A reporter asked many musicians and stars as to who they thought were the worst people in history (a rather odd question to ask a superstar).  Many names were thrown out including human slave masters.  When Soulja Boy was asked the same question and told some of the other names that people threw out, he had this to say... “Shout out to the slave masters,” Soulja Boy said, continuing ”Without them we’d still be in Africa. We wouldn’t be here to get this ice and tattoos.”  Some people just need to learn to keep their mouths shut!  The guy needs like a muzzle, or a big piece of tape stuck over his mouth, no one wants to hear his crap anymore.  He may possibly be the most stupid musician to ever hit the music scene.

So this weeks "Remix of the Week" is brought to you by Ill Doctrine, a YouTube'er who remixed the ever so popular Soulja Boy song entitled, "Yahh."  As some of you are well aware, there was a recent debate for the two top running Democratic nominee's.  If you were one of the many who tuned into it, you will enjoy this short remix of the Soulja Boy song.  If not, and you are not someone who watched it, still check it out, it is very funny, and in a way, true.  You can check out the fifty-six second video below or by Clicking Here!

At the bottom of the blog, in case you have not noticed, ICECrush and I have listed our Top Ten Albums of 2007.  It is a pretty hefty and nice sized list, and I advise those looking for some good music to check it out.  So we covered the Best of 2007, but what about the worst?  I am sure you can all think of an album that you must have been like, "What the heck was this music artist thinking when he/she decided to come out with this album...?"  Well, we are with you on that one!  We have made our very own list, dedicated to THE WORST OF 2007.  Enjoy!

#1: Soulja Boy - Souljaboytellem.Com

While everyone is out there doing their dances to "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" I am sitting here, trying to figure out why.  Out of all the albums to be released in 2007, this by far was the worst of the worst.  While it is hard for me to truly criticize a rookie effort from Soulja Boy, I find it absolutely crazy and absurd that there are people out there who can sit there and listen to this. While I will agree, "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" does have a very catchy tune (and a a fresh type of dance), the rest of the album as a whole was terrible. If you liked it, well then that is your very own opinion, but after hearing the ever so popular single, I expected a little bit more out of this album... The best way I can describe Soulja Boy's lyrical style is to an ever so popular Rap & Hip-Hop artist that goes by the name of Lil' Jon.  Each use many phrases over and over again in their songs. Nas named one of his albums Hip Hop is Dead, I think that Soulja Boy's newest album is perfect proof that indeed, Hip-Hop is Dead.

#2: T-Pain - Epiphany

I am never one to conform to what is popular, and although this album was extremely popular, there really was no substance to it.  Besides the three main songs, I did not see what was so special about Epiphany.  Just like all T-Pain songs, this album got boring fast.  His music, in my opinion, are generally quick hits.  By This I mean that he does not have a ton of hit songs on an album and the few that he has get played to death (making his good songs get old fast). While I will agree that songs such as "Church," "Bartender," "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')" are very solid hit songs, the album itself is really nothing.  Considering that this is about the worst albums not and singles, I place Epiphany at number two.

#3: MIMS - Music is My Life

Where does one even start with this album?  I mean, the only good song about this album was "This is Why I'm Hot."  Shawn Mims is a great remixing music artist, a decent mixtape musician, but when it comes to making full albums, they turn out like this.  I mean it is nice to see some life from the New York Hip-Hop industry, but if I had to see it from someone, Mims would not be the guy.  If I had to give this album on a 1 to 5 score, I would give it a straight up "1."  That "1" star signifies the only ONE track that was good on the entire album.  Although Mims' album did not do so well, he is getting back on the horse, and going for his second album in which he will be remixing most of the songs off his first  debut album (I guess we will have seehow that goes down).

So there you have it, my top three worst albums of 2007.  Soulja Boy is still young, and possess the power to become a great Hip-Hop artist, if he can repeat tracks like "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" then he should be well on his way to stardom.  T-Pain...hm...what more can I say about him?  He needs to come out with a full fledged solid album before he can gain my trust as an entertaining musician.  And that brings us to Shawn Mims.  Shawn has shown greatness, and I think it is only a matter of time until he hits it big with a great album.  Well thats all I got to say about The Worst of 2007.  Lets see what these artists bring to the table for 2008!
